Overnight Respite

Overnight Respite Service is now available!

Why Respite?
Operating a household with someone who has additional needs can take a toll on all members. Parents, siblings, and additional supports all need a break from time to time to recharge and regroup.

Respite care is also a break for your child; giving them something new in their routine to look forward to. Being away from home will prepare them for the day they become autonomous. The earlier the student begins the exposure process, the smoother their transition into supported living later in life will be.

Take this opportunity to provide yourself with some self care activities all while knowing your child is well looked after in a place they enjoy.

Location: PPA’s Learning centre is located in Seaton, on the corner of Trimmer Parade and Tapleys Hill Road.

To simulate the real world, this learning centre is in the form of a unit. Students will have the opportunity to come and experience real world living skills alongside academics. This centre will facilitate tutoring, sleepovers, functional life skills and socialisation with peers while being under the supervision of trained staff.

Alternatively, we are happy to work around your family dynamics by providing a support worker to stay overnight within your family home if preferred.

Fees: The overnight fee is $330.

This is a flat fee that includes: Standard rate regardless of day, 12 hours of care from 7pm-7am, transport, activities, and meals. Additional hours each side of 7pm and 7am will be charged at our regular rate of $55 per hour.

Eligibility: Please note that overnight respite services can only be provided to those above 10 years of age. If under 10 years of age, we can provide a support worker to stay overnight within your family home. Funding is via NDIS core budget.
